amazing song that’s been stuck in my head all day

and one of the comments on it:

“If you can’t relate at all to this song, i applaud you. Because that means you have yet to feel real heartache or loss. Good for you. But in time you will feel real loss - and once you do you will understand this song. It is a heartfelt, sad, gorgeous rendition of the original. Anyone who’s experienced any loss, be it of family, friend, or lover “gets it.” All others - come back once you have lived”

“winter storm”

I love the weather in Virginia for the fact you don’t normally freeze in the winter. I have been without a jacket the last few days but today I woke up to find everything covered in snow. It seriously never snows here. That’s one thing I miss about living down here. I don’t miss driving in it and the fact that we never got a break because it snowed from October to April in Rochester, NY. Knowing I don’t have to drive in it and it will disappear in a few days makes this the coolest snow day ever.

Pluto missed the snow too. He was hopping and jumping everywhere.

skyaide - jumping for a cure

So today we finally launched something I’ve been working on for a few months with Sonny Gill and Mary Ann. It’s definitely my favorite project so far. You can check it out at www.skyaide.com and read the blog at blog.skyaide.com. It’s a photo blog that joins people around the world by jumping for a common cause: a cure for cancer.

Submit your pics, donate, and follow @skyaide for updates :)

all-american awesomeness

I went to see Anberlin (who we missed), All-American Rejects, and Taking Back Sunday last night at the Norva. It was a cool show but the best part was hanging out at Kelly’s after the concert, where all the bands showed up to drink and play pool. We took some pics with Tyson from All-American Rejects (who apparently celebrated his 21st birthday at the Norva many years ago) and we talked to Adam Lazzara (lead vocalist from Taking Back Sunday) who was really awesome to talk to. We were telling him how crazy his mic throwing skills were and he explained that it was easy to him because of his martial arts/nunchucks training.

If you don’t know these bands then… WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? Study these - Move Along, It Ends Tonight, The Wind Blows, MakeDamnSure

Here are some photos of us with Tyson and a video of Taking Back Sunday’s “MakeDamnSure” that I took (with help from my tall friend dan).

I think this is genius. Singing a song to himself about a singing a song to himself. Ever since I saw this movie a year ago, I’ve had to urge to go into airplane bathrooms and sing to myself. Love the song too - “Song to Self” by Travis. If you like that one you’ll probably also like “Closer”.

I had never used tumblr before but decided it was the best fit for a project I was working on. I made this account just to test out things for the project but I think I’ll now start using this account just to post random things that interest me and probably bore the rest of you :)
